The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev considers that frontier cooperation is one of the most efficient activity fields of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), is stated in the statement submitted to the participants of the 58th meeting of the Council of Commanders of Frontier Troops.
Nazarbayev noted that adoption of the Conception of agreed frontier policy of CIS allows forming base for international cooperation in protection borders.
Nazarbayev believes that the close interaction of frontier bodies and other law defendant structures of CIS member-countries will positively affect on settlement of tasks concerning border protection.
The Council was established in 6 July 1992. Representatives of frontier bodies of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine, as well as former heads of the Russian Frontier Service attended at the opening ceremony of the organization.
