Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Chairman of Azerbaijan Parliament's Permanent Commission on International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations and also the Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE, Samad Seyidov, said on 20 September in Baku during the meeting with the Chairman of Italian Parliament's Permanent Foreign Commission, Umberto Ranieri, that Italy's support is very important for Azerbaijan to develop education and health.
Seyidov considers that the opening of Milan-Baku flights, mutual visits of the entrepreneurs may assist in developing co-operation between the two countries. " Azerbaijan has joined EU Neighborhood Policy and is developing relations with the European Union," he said.
Seyidov said that an energy triangle, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia, has appeared in the region. "Our strategic partner Turkey also supports the delivery of the energy resources of the region to the world market. It opens a new way for Azerbaijan and we will achieve larger results within a short period," he said. According to him, the high-level relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia present a ground for Europe's safety and energy security.
Ranieri said that the relations between Italy and Azerbaijan should strengthen. According to him, Italy is the largest trade partner of Azerbaijan. "In addition, Azerbaijan should closely co-operate with the European Union," he said. Ranieri highly assessed Azerbaijan's role with regards to oil and energy security.
