Presidents of Azerbaijan and Romania Hold Face-to-Face Talks

Romania, Bucharest /corr. Trend Y.Aliyev / The Presidents of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev and Romania, Trayan Basesku held a one-to-one talk on 24 September in Bucharest. The discussions took place in the LAK-2 residence without the participation of the press and no official statements were made for the press after the meeting, Trend Special Correspondent reports from Bucharest.

The talks took place on the first day of Azerbaijan President's two-day working visit to Romania. The visit program includes the participating in the opening ceremony of the representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, a park named after the former President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, in Bucharest and a visit to the Ploeshti city.

Earlier the Head of the Foreign Relations Department of Azerbaijan President's Executive Apparat, Novruz Mammadov, reported to Trend that Azerbaijan had a good partnership amongst the countries of Eastern Europe, including Poland, Romania and Baltic countries. According to him, there good relations exist between Azerbaijan and Romania, the State Heads of the two countries often meet and hold talks on various subjects. During the visit, the agenda will include talks on energy co-operation of the two countries within the Nabucco pipeline which will transport Middle Asian and Caspian gas to Europe.
