One More Opposition Presidential Candidate in Azerbaijan Recognizes His Defeat (video)

Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 October /corr. Trend A.Huseynbala / The Head of opposition Umid Party, Igbal Agazade, recognized the victory of Ilham Aliyev in the Presidential elections in Azerbaijan.

"The candidate from the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Ilham Aliyev, won the elections," Agazade said to press-conference on 15 October.

He said that the observers from Umid Party observed the voting at 75 polling stations. Agazade received results from 48 Constituency Election Commissions where he gained 10-12% of votes.

"Inconsiderable problems were recorded in the elections, on which relevant appeals will be made to the Central Election Commission. Despite this, the elections became a new democratic stage in the election process of the country," Agazade said.

Seven candidates participated in the 15 October presidential elections, including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
