It is planned to launch direct the Baku-Damascus flights to develop tourism ties between Syria and Azerbaijan by late October, Syrian Culture Minister, Riad Nasan al-Agha said.

The Minister said that Azerbaijan will likely carry out this flight.

"Flights between the countries are carried out through Istanbul or in other ways. We need the active cooperation in tourism," said to Trend Nasan al-Agha, head of the Syrian delegation to the Sixth Conference of Culture Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Conference, which is taking place in Baku on Oct. 13-15.

The Baku-Aleppo flight, which was stopped some time ago, will be restored, said the Syrian minister.
