Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug. 11 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
Street vendors will hold a large-scale rally in front of Tbilisi City Hall today at noon.
The campaign is organized by the opposition Conservative Party and Georgia's People Party.
Police and vendors clashed Aug. 10 after the government ordered the eviction of the vendors.
Tbilisi City Hall proposed several alternative locations for street vendors at local markets, and offered to let the vendors work there rent-free until the New Year.
Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava said 16,000 sellers work at markets in Tbilisi. The city has roughly 4,000 street vendors.
