The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) is close to finishing its research activities to identify its candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
"The NAP considers a number of factors when determining candidates," NAP Deputy Executive Secretary, MP Siyavush Novruzov told the party's official website. "First and foremost, the party nominates a candidate from each district. Then the party begins its analysis."
Parliamentary elections will be held on Nov. 7. The last parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. The elections are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
Novruzov added that the opposition is make generalize statements about the elections.
"We are studying who they nominate from which constituencies," he said. "We will put forward our candidates in due time."
Novruzov added that even if the opposition parties unite, they will not be able to find candidates for all 125 districts.
