Ambassadors of the NATO member-countries to Georgia met today with representatives of national and ethnic minorities. The meeting was held at the NATO Information Center and was attended by State Minister of Reintegration Temur Yakobashvili.

The meeting covered the relations of Georgia with the alliance, the prospects for Georgia's entrance to NATO and the preparations for the Lisbon summit, said Yakobashvili after the meeting.
According to him, as a rule, the debates about NATO in Georgia are held in the Georgian language, so the national and ethnic minorities have no information about the alliance. Yakobashvili believes that such meetings and the work conducted by the NATO Information Center greatly increase public awareness about the alliance.

Ambassadors meet with the representatives of national minorities within the NATO Week. By the end of the day, the diplomats will hold several more meetings. They will meet with Georgian Parliamentary Speaker David Bakradze, State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Giorgi Baramidze.
