"We encourage all international organizations to resolve conflicts in the Caucasus region. Until the conflicts in the Caucasus are resolved, there is no guarantee of peace also for the neighboring regions," Baltic Assembly President Laine Randjarv said today at a roundtable talk in the Azerbaijani parliament.
She said delay in resolution of conflicts in the Caucasus region extends a threat to neighboring regions. Until the conflicts are solved, it is impossible to achieve any development, Randjarv said.
For this reason, the Baltic Assembly adopted two documents on restoration of geopolitical stability in the Caucasus region on Nov. 28, 2009, she said. One of these documents is associated with the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"The document says that the conflict should be resolved as soon as possible based on international principles. Another document envisages the restoration of Georgia's territorial integrity," Randjarv stressed.
