A seeing off ceremony of an Azerbaijani delegation that will participate in the XXX Summer Olympics 2012 in London has been held at the Heydar Aliyev Center today. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva have attended the event.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev delivered an introductory speech.
Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov and representatives of the youth have talked about the preparations for the Olympic Games.
Senior coach of the Azerbaijan Freestyle Wrestling Team Firdovsi Umudov, member of the Paralympics athletics team Huseyn Hasanov, member of the boxing team Vatan Huseynov also delivered speech.
Then, the sportsmen have read out the text of the Olympic oath.
Fifty-three athletes will represent Azerbaijan at the XXX Summer Olympics in London in 2012.
