Azerbaijan has obtained an image of the country with political pluralism in the world, Ali Hasanov, Azerbaijani presidential aide for public and political affairs said on May 7.

Hasanov said at the conference entitled "Azerbaijan in the modern world", organized by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party and dedicated to the 92nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

"This is connected with the creation of free atmosphere for the civil society institutions, the media and NGOs, their material and moral support, favorable conditions for the world's global information resources, leading foreign media outlets and their representative offices," he said.

He said that this factor has had a real impact on the international image and geopolitical force of Azerbaijan.

"The diplomatic missions, operating abroad, the Azerbaijanis, living worldwide, etc. can be referred to the geopolitical influence and diplomatic resources of Azerbaijan," he said. "Azerbaijan is involved in political, cultural and diplomatic spheres in the world through these resources. It also tries to ensure the geo-political interests in the corresponding spheres."

As for the successful oil strategy of Azerbaijan, Hasanov said that presently, Azerbaijan together with other Caspian-littoral countries - Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan is considered
as the most favorable and reliable partner, meeting Europe's energy needs, growing in the third millennium and ensuring the energy security in the world.

He said that one of the main risks of the oil and gas production in the Caspian region, which is considered as an alternative source of energy in the world, is connected with the supply of products to the world market via the safe routes.

"From this point of view, Azerbaijan is in the best conditions among the Caspian-littoral countries compared to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan," he said. "It is in the best conditions in supplying the oil and gas resources, extracted in the country and the partner-countries, to the foreign markets, the diversification of export routes."

"The risks of the country's energy export are at a very low level compared to those countries," Hasanov said.

He said that currently, the presence of three oil pipelines Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Supsa, Baku-Novorossiysk with an annual capacity of about 70 million metric tons, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, Baku-Astara-Iran and Azerbaijan-Russia gas pipelines with an annual capacity of 30 -40 billion cubic nullifies the geo-economic risks of Azerbaijan and partners in the export of electric power.

"Being one of the transit countries of Eurasia, Azerbaijan is in the center of trade, energy, fuel and transport-communication relations between East and West," he said. "This position is being strengthened over time."

Hasanov said that Azerbaijan has turned into a major played amid the interests of regional and global security by implementing a balanced security policy in the region.

"During this period, Azerbaijan, in the presence of two military blocs - NATO and CSTO, colliding with each other in Eurasia and the South Caucasus, preferred holding a steady, balanced policy. The specialists believe that the country's policy is fully adequate to the realities of the South Caucasus."
