The parliamentary election held in Azerbaijan Nov.1, 2015 was transparent and democratic, head of the country's Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov said Nov.24.
He made the remarks during the meeting of the plenum of Azerbaijan's Constitutional Court.
He noted that no complaints were received from local and international observers over the election.
Under the Article 86 of Azerbaijan's constitution, the issues related to verification and confirmation of the parliamentary election results are being reviewed at the meeting of the Constitutional Court.
Panahov said the nomination and registration of candidates was carried out in accordance with the Electoral Code, adding that 767 candidates took part in the election.
The Central Election Commission took all measures to hold transparent and democratic election, he added.
The voter turnout in the parliamentary election was 55.7 percent. Over 2.89 million voters participated in the election, which is 6 percent more than in the previous elections.
