Embassy searching for Azerbaijanis among Berlin incident victims

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has extended condolences over the tragic incident in Berlin, as a result of which people were killed and injured, the ministry’s press service said in a message Dec. 20.
“The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry expresses its deep condolences to the bereaved families and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured,” according to the message.
Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Germany is in contact with local authorities and is conducting an investigation in order to find out whether there were Azerbaijani nationals among the casualties.
A truck ploughed into a crowded Christmas market in Breitscheidplatz, West Berlin, on Dec. 19 evening, killing at least 12 people and injuring 48 others.
