LACHIN, Azerbaijan, June 22. Projects implemented under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and with the participation of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva laid the foundation for the "Great Return", Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev said at an operational meeting in Azerbaijan's Lachin, Trend reports from the scene.
In his opening speech, Kamran Aliyev gave the necessary instructions.
He noted that immediately after the liberation of Azerbaijani lands, restoration and construction work began in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, and a number of projects of international importance, including the construction of smart cities villages, and international airports were launched in Zangilan, Fuzuli, and Lachin, and energy infrastructure was built.
To date, the construction of the Fuzuli and Zangilan airports has been completed and they have been opened, while the Lachin airport is planned to be opened as soon as possible, the official said.
Besides, Kamran Aliyev noted that construction work rapidly continues in all the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, including the Lachin district. As in other territories liberated as a result of the glorious victory [in the 2020 second Karabakh war], life returned to the Lachin district, and construction and restoration work began.
According to him, Lachin after a period of occupation began to revive. Here, the activities envisaged by the First State Program of the "Great Return" are being carried out at a high level. Everyone who visits these territories clearly sees the large scale of the ongoing construction work.
He emphasized that the repeated visits of President Ilham Aliyev to the Lachin district, including Lachin city, acquaintance on the spot with the ongoing restoration and reconstruction work indicate that this region is of great importance for Azerbaijan.
The operational meeting is being held with the participation of the leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan Masim Mammadov in the Lachin district, part of the East Zangazur Economic Region, and military prosecutors of subordinate districts and territories, operating in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
