BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 22. Armenia, and Armenia alone, is to blame that a peaceful resolution did not happen earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov said at the UN Security Council meeting, Trend reports.
According to the minister, Armenia's failure to fulfill its obligations to immediately and unconditionally withdraw its troops from the territory of Azerbaijan undermines all international efforts to resolve the conflict launched by Armenia against Azerbaijan 30 years ago.
"The anti-terrorist measures implemented by Azerbaijan have achieved their goals. If Armenia had fulfilled its obligations under the Trilateral Declaration, this could have been achieved peacefully long ago. This did not happen solely through the fault of Armenia," he said.
Bayramov noted that the continued illegal military presence of Armenia on the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan remained the most serious obstacle to efforts to reintegrate the Armenian population of Karabakh into Azerbaijani society.
