The documents of the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (SDPA), ex-President Ayaz Mutalibov have been submitted on 17 August to the constituency electoral committee for participation in the parliamentary elections, SDPA told Trend. The candidacy of the former Azerbaijan’s President has been nominated from the Yasamal third constituency N17.
Mutallibov was in power in Azerbaijan in 1990-1992. He was the first President of an independent Azerbaijan, after the overthrow of his government and till now he has been living in Russia. In case of his coming back to Azerbaijan he will be arrested by the law-enforcement bodies due to the charges.
