He said, prior to symposium to be held on Saturday the photo-stand reflecting the Hodjali genocide will be displayed.
The conference will be held on 26 February at the Chief Consulate of Azerbaijan in Istanbul; along with the Diaspora organizations and diplomats of Azerbaijan representatives of the Turkish public will take part in the event. According to Nabioglu, the film shot on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation about the Hodjali genocide will be demonstarted at the conference.
Nabioglu said, the film has been demonstrated during some days on various TV channels of Turkey. The documentary film of the known TV journalist Mehriban Alekperzade about the Hodjali genocide will be demonstrated since 26 February by various Turkish TV channels. Various articles about the Hodjali tragedy are published in the newspapers with photos.
Nabioglu noted, a number of events have been organized in regard to the Hodjali anniversary. On 22 February a mass rally was held on the largest central square of Istanbul, Taxim, organized by the World Azerbaijanis Congress (WAC). Azerbaijani students, representatives of the local public, the WAC members, Azerbaijani organizations functioning in Istanbul took an active part in the action. The rally participants condemned the Hodjali genocide, honoured the memories of the tragedy victims and the statement on the genocide was disseminated among the media. According to Nabioglu, the most important result of the action is that for the first time the Turkish media paid so much attention to the Hodjali genocide.
The chief consul said also, the events dedicated to the 14-th anniversary of the tragedy in Hodjali are held also in Ankara and other Turkish cities. Nabiogly, while reminding participation of 3 Milli Mejlis deputies from Azerbaijan in hearings held at the Great National Mejlis in Ankara said, on 24 February on the Esterbom tower in Ankara the ceremony related to Hodjali will be held. Nabioglu thinks, commemoration of the Hodjali tragedy at the Turkish Parliament should be appreciated as a significant day for Azerbaijan. В"As no matter how fraternal and friendly the relations between the two countries are, Turkey is a foreign state. Putting the issue of the genocide against the Azerbaijanis on the high level discussion at the Parliament of another state, harsh condemnation of those who committed the tragedy is very important. If we do not undertake joint steps against the occupation and terrorist Armenians we will not be able to resolve our problems, Nabioglu stressed.
