Azerigaz JSC launched the second phase of gasification of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), Trend reports quoting Alikhan Melikov, president of Azerigaz. Second phase of NARs gasification costs AZN 29.2bn, from which AZM 8.7mln have been allotted to date.
Within Phase 2, it is planned to lay on gas supply to remaining consumers. Volume of supply is expected to rise to 250mln m3 this year. By 2007, gas supply will total 350mln m3. Gas will be transferred to Iran via Astara, and the latter will pumps the same volume of Nakhchivan.
