A permanent parliamentary commission on regional issues held a sitting on 17 May. The gathering discussed the law on adoption of Rules on establishment of a special commission for consideration of disputable territorial questions among administrative territorial units.

Addressing the gathering MP Arif Rahimzade, the chairman of the commission, noted that the above said rules do not concern the activities of a special commission established by the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The key objective of establishment of the commission is development of conclusion for final resolution of disputable territorial problems and their submission to the Milli Majlis. One of the territorial units having territorial problems is eligible to appeal to the Milli Majlis for the resolution of the problem through establishment of a special commission. The commission is committed to consider the issue over 30 days. In case of necessity the term can be prolonged.

After discussions the rules were recommended to the Milli Majlis.
