The information disseminated in the press about the issue that the chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov has sent a congratulation letter to the newly elected chairman of the Armenian parliament Tigran Torasyan doesnt correspond to reality, deputies Asef Hajiyev and Musa Guliyev who participated at the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) made such a statement on June 9 at a press-conference, Trend reports.

According to Hajiyev, several opposition newspapers with reference to the Armenian sources distorted the views of members of Azerbaijani delegation at the meeting of BSEC. It means that these newspapers cooperate with Armenians. We appeared in Yerevan with a position protecting the interests of Azerbaijan, told Hajiyev.

Besides, Hajiyev noted that their goal was to participate at the meeting of PABSEC. The meeting of the organization is held every 6 months. The chairmanship to the organization transferred to Azerbaijan for 6 months. Our delegation had to receive the chairmanship, stated Hajiyev.

Deputy Guliyev stated that information about the congratulation letter of Asadov to Torasyan was false. According to him, Armenian deputies offered them to cooperate. However, we expressed that Armenia was still keeping Azerbaijani territories under occupation, therefore Azerbaijan cannot cooperate with Armenia. Armenian journalists asked ask question: what ways will Azerbaijan support if the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict isnt resolved peacefully? We expressed that Azerbaijan would choose the war, told Guliyev.
