Next Meeting of EU-Azerbaijan Co-operation Committee to Take Place in Baku

The next meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Co-operation Committee will take place in Baku in 2007, the Azerbaijani Ambassador in the Benelux countries and European Union Arif Mammadov exclusively told Trend.

Such decision has been made at the 6th meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Co-operation Committee recently held in Brussels. The Azerbaijani delegation in the meeting was headed

by the Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev and Deputy Economic Development Minister Mikayl Jabbarov. Form the European Union, the delegation was presided by the Deputy Director General of the EU Foreign Directorate General Fokion Fotiadis, as well as representatives of the Finnish President.

The sides organized debates on many questions of the mutual co-operation and confirmed the documents of the upcoming meeting. The considered documents included EU-Azerbaijan Action Program, co-operation with regard to energy, commercial-economical relations, assistance and co-operation programs and regional problems. In addition, the European Neighborhood Policy Action Program was agreed.

The visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to Brussels concluded on October 27.
