The Secretary of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC), Natig Mammadov, informed Trend that if during monitoring, the CEC discovers serious violations in the activities of the divisional election commissions, punishment measures will be taken.
The CEC has started monitoring the activities of the district election commissions. According to Mammadov, presently the activities of 64 districts have been monitored, adding that the monitoring will be completed within 1-2 months. The CEC will possibly hold a meeting on the monitoring of the district election commissions. The CEC has defined criteria to assess the activities of the district election commissions. According to the law, punishment measures should be determined, Mammadov said.
