Law on Creative People and Creative Organizations to be Adopted
Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Alizadeh / Azerbaijani Permanent Parliamentary Commission on Culture is developing the Law on Library Science and Law on Cinematography, the chairman of the Commission, MP Nizami Jafarov, reported on 6 June.
He noted that along with the aforementioned laws the Commission had developed the Law on Creative People and Creative Organizations.
"Creative organizations are not political or non-government ones. They play an important part in development of Azerbaijani culture and arts. So, adoption of a separate law is necessary," MP stressed.
According to Jafarov, the Union of Writers which is financed by government is the most well-known in Azerbaijan creative organization. "I do not consider the financing to be enough for the Union of Writers. The Union of Composers and the Union of Theatre Figures are also financed to a certain extent. Financial assistance should be regulated by state for complete development of the organizations," Jafarov added.
