CIS Interior Ministers Sign Documents in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend E.Huseynli / The Interior Ministers of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, as well as Uzbekistan and Russia, signed bilateral protocols on interaction in 2008-2009 during the meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Interior Ministers in Baku on 7 September.

Addressing the news conference dedicated to the results of the meeting, Ramil Usubov, the Azerbaijani Interior Minister, said that the event discussed 11 topics. Furthermore, the ministers discussed several documents, including the agreement on exchange of information in fighting against crime, agreement on increase of productivity of cooperation in the sphere of information technologies in the crime enforcement, agreement on injecting supplements to the instruction of unified rules in the implementation of interstate search of people, as well as appeals to CIS Interior Ministers concerning business trips of interior employees with respect to participation in the implementation of operative measures with regards to people in the interstate search.

Usubov noted that the next meeting of the CIS Council of Interior Ministers will be held in Georgia next year.
