Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / The state program on development of the press may be adopted by the end of 2007, Ali Hasanov, the head of the Public Political Department at the Azerbaijani President's Administration, told Trend Agency on 21 September.
The President's Administration and Press Council are creating a program on the development of the press and the document may be adopted by the end of 2007.
"We are discussing ways for development of the press," Hasanov said. The information about press representatives was appealing to the President of Azerbaijan enough so that the information of the release of the arrested journalists was spread among the population.
All appeals submitted to the President's Administration are examined and reported to the President.
Release of the arrested journalists will depend of the decision of the Pardon Commission, and also on the Azerbaijani President, Hasanov said.
Seven journalists are still imprisoned in Azerbaijan.
