Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 February / Trend corr. К.Zarbaliyeva / Avaz Zeynalli, the chief editor of the Khural newspaper, appealed the court's decision on a lawsuit brought by Agabay Askarov, the Azerbaijan public house director.
Askarov brought an action to the Narimanov District Court against the chief editor due to materials published in the newspaper.
The Court made a decision to fine the newspaper in the amount of AZN 1,000. Zeynalli was sentenced to one year and six months of correctional work.
The preparatory session was held in the Baku Appeals Court on 5 February. The court is scheduled to hear the appeal on February 12.
