Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 March / Trend corr K. Ramazanova/ The journalist of Azadlig newspaper Agil Khalil, who was taken to hospital after being stabbed, may be now discharged from the hospital, his physician Zaur Mammadov said on 14 March.
On 13 March, at about 8.00pm, Agil Khalil- a journalist of the Azadlig newspaper was stabbed in the chest by unknown assailants. He was immediately taken to the First Aid Hospital, named after Musa Nagiyev, where he was operated on. A criminal case has been filed.
According to the physician, Khalil feels well now and needs only psychological rehabilitation.
The US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse, the representatives of the Council of Europe, MPs of the Azerbaijani Parliament Panah Huseyn and Nasib Nasibzade, the representative of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov also visited the injured journalist.
