Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 April / corr Trend B.Mammadov / Berti Fogtz, a German specialist, has been appointed coach for the Azerbaijan national football team.
On 3 April the trainer who led the German team to the European Champion 1996 title, signed the contract with AFFA in Frankfurt. After studying the contract, the parties signed a private contract with a second contract to be signed upon his arrival in Azerbaijan. Previously the Association had held talks with the German trainer regarding the possibility of working with the national team.
Fogtz was formerly a coach for the Nigerian national team which trained for the Cup of Africa.
