Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 April / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The competition Brain Ring - intellectual game, was conducted for the first time amongst the Azerbaijani prisoners, within the framework of the cooperation between the Youth and Sport Central Department with the Penitentiary Service, dedicated to 85th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev.
Six teams from the rehabilitation prison- 2 took part in the competition. Competition covered culture, literature, history and geography of Azerbaijan. All the questions were developed by the officials of Youth and Sport Central Department.
Winners were granted with certificates and prizes presented by Youth and Sport Central Department.
It is also planned to hold similar events in other prisons as well.
Nahid Khalilov, Chief of the Department, stated that the football tournaments are also held amongst prisoners within the framework of the events. The final game will be held on 10 May.
About 1,000 prisoners serve their sentence in the prison 2.
Thirty-six prisoners are foreign citizens -from Iran, Turkey and Nigeria.
Forty-six prisoners were released anticipatory by the decision of court.
