Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 August / Trend , corr E. Babayev/ The Press Council of Azerbaijan has investigated the causes of delay of financial aid for mass media which was to be allocated in accordance with the presidential decree.

In July, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on allotting financial aid for the mass media. According to a decree, each of the papers and new agencies will be allocated aid worth AZN5,000. The list of mass media outlets includes eight news agencies and 30 papers. The Ministry of Finance is instructed to allocate the aid.

"A number of media outlets appealed Press Council about the delay of the financial aid. Today I called Ministry of Finance and it said that there were no any problems with this regard," Aflatun Amashov, chairman of Press Council said to Trend on 21 August.

The Ministry said to Amashov that several media outlets have already been provided with financial aid. "Mass media outlets which have not received aid, have not introduced Ministry of Finance information on bank details," Amashov said.
