The Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry will complete monitoring of the tourism facilities operating in the country by late July, Minister Abulfaz Garayev said on Monday.
The monitoring revealed that prices fell by 15 - 20 and sometimes 25 percent compared in such facilities in the northern and southern regions compared to 2010. "We are pleased that this pricing policy will enable many segments of the population to rest in Azerbaijan," Garayev said.
The monitoring also revealed some shortcomings. He said measures will be taken to resolve them during the tourist season, which will continue until mid-September,
Holding of the international exhibitions in Azerbaijan makes it possible to convey realities, and reliable information about Azerbaijan to the world, Garayev said.
"The state is constantly working in this direction, but holding of the Eurovision Song Contest in Azerbaijan in 2012 will give new impetus to this," he added.
