The monitoring results for compliance with the norms of a literary language on Azerbaijani TV channels will be announced in August, chairman of the Azerbaijani National Television and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli told Trend.

He said that the Council and the Linguistics Institute of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences held monitoring within two months to examine the situation for compliance with the norms of a literary language on Azerbaijani TV channels.

The news programs and talk shows were monitored, Maharramli said.

Different people have different views on the issue of compliance with a literary language on TV channels, he said.

"Therefore, we conducted this monitoring, together with employees of the Linguistics Institute," Maharramli said.

He spoke about the revealed deficiencies. In general, they are associated with the sentences, containing Russian and Turkish words, he added.

"I think that the leadership of TV channels and employees must intervene and try to keep the Azerbaijani literary language," he said.
