A delegation headed by president of the Rostropovich-Vishnevskaya Foundation Elena Rostropovich is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
The visit started on Monday evening and will last until May 26, head of the foundation representative office in Azerbaijan Soltan Mammadov told Trend today. The delegation has already met with officials of the Health Ministry.
The programs "Diagnosis of pregnant women for hepatitis B and HIV and preventive measures among new born children against hepatitis B" and "Fighting against the helminthes among schoolchildren", the work conducted within the routine immunization program, as well as cooperation prospects were discussed at the meeting. The programs were implemented by the Health Ministry and Rostropovich-Vishnevskaya Foundation.
The rate of such diseases as measles, mumps and rubella significantly decreased in accordance with the national immunization campaign, jointly organized by the Foundation and the Ministry of Health.
The delegation also inquired about the progress of the program "Diagnosis of pregnant women for hepatitis B and preventive measures among new born children against hepatitis B", held in a city maternity hospital No 2.
During the visit the delegation will visit several medical institutions.
