After visiting stadiums in Azerbaijan and seeing the infrastructure, chairman of the Organizing Committee for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Hany Abo Rida was pleasantly surprised.
He made this statement at a press-conference in Baku today.
"The preparation surprised me," he said. "I am sure that there will be no problems in the future."
"Much work has been done in the country in a very short period of time, where women's soccer was not developed," FIFA's Head of Women's Football Competitions Tatjana Haenni said at a press conference today. "Azerbaijan is going to host the World Cup."
"We are witnessing the rapid development of female football in Azerbaijan," she said.
Chairman of the local organizing committee of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Elhan Mammadov said that the purpose of the event is to promote the World Cup.
"That's why we have invited such popular singers as Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Rihanna and they have accepted the invitation with pleasure," he stressed.
"Admirers of these singers having no interest in football will also come," he said. "About 2,000 tickets for the championship game have been already sold abroad."
