Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 29
By Ilhama Isabalayeva - Trend:
The attempts made by certain internal and external forces to harm the democratic image of Azerbaijan are futile, Siyavush Novruzov, the candidate for MP, the deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, said in an interview with the ruling party's website.
He said that while expressing a negative opinion about Azerbaijan, some forces are trying to disrupt the stability of the country and ensure their interests.
"They want Azerbaijan to be in the same situation as some Arab countries," he said. "And when these plans are not successful, they use factors of democracy and human rights as an excuse."
He said that the whole world is well aware of the countries having problems with democracy and human rights.
"If they are true, let them solve these problems," he said. "Armenia has violated the rights of more than one million Azerbaijani citizens. "Fanatics" of human rights in the first place must help to restore the rights of these people. Otherwise, other charges have no basis. They will never achieve their insidious purposes."
