BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 4. Azerbaijan's young and teenage swimmers took part in the international tournament in Riga, the capital of Latvia, Trend reports.
According to the information provided to Idman.biz by the press service of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, our boys' 4x200 team won a gold medal in the 200 m distance in a competition in which a record number of 760 athletes participated.
In individual competitions, in the open age group, Abdurrahman Rustamov finished second in the butterfly method at 100 and 200 m distances. Ogtay Huseynov won bronze at the same distances and in the same method. Suleyman Ismayilzade took third place in the 100, 200-meter butterfly, and second place in the 200, 400, and 1500-meter distances.
Said Hamidov won a bronze medal in the mixed method at a distance of 200 meters, and Mehri Abdurrahmanli won a bronze medal at 200 meters in the butterfly method.
Ismayilzade and Abdurrahmanli have renewed their records among their peers.
