LACHIN, Azerbaijan, August 6. I'm studying for a doctorate in architecture as a scholarship holder of the Japanese government and representing Azerbaijani architecture in this country, Laman Tarverdiyeva, a participant of the V Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth, told Trend.

She highlighted her accession to the Japan Institute of Architects and Designers' Association this year.

"My research is dedicated to the symbolic language in traditional architectural monuments. Specifically, half of my research focuses on the architecture of tombs, which pertains to Azerbaijani architecture. Today, I am conducting research on the symbolic language in the architecture of tombs, which has not been done before. In this regard, I am considered a scholar who has presented Azerbaijani architecture in Japan for the first time in this aspect," Tarverdiyeva said.

The camp participant added that during her stay in Karabakh, she witnessed large-scale reconstruction and restoration activities.

To note, the V Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth "Youth for a Green World" is being held on the ancient Azerbaijani land – in Lachin, organized by the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora together with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, on August 1–7.
