BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. About 152,619 ha of land were cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance in the territories liberated from occupation by representatives of the Azerbaijani Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Emergency Situations, SBS, four national commercial companies, and the national NGO “International Eurasian Press Foundation” from November 10, 2020, through July 31, 2024, Chairperson of the Public Association “Azerbaijan Campaign Against Mines” Hafiz Safikhanov said, Trend reports.
He made the remark at a press conference on the results of the project “Strengthening international support to Azerbaijan in demining.”
Safikhanov noted that the operations are managed from the ANAMA Operations Center in Horadiz, mobile bases operating in Aghdam, Jabrayil, Zangilan, Gubadli, Lachin, Khojavand districts, and Hadrut settlement, as well as from points in Shusha and Khankendi.
