Persons Accused of Pre-meditated Murder Discontent with Court Investigation

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / Persons accused of premeditated murder who are kept in Isolation Cell- 3 in the Shuvelan settlement, are discontented with the court's investigations. Dmitri Pavlov, Ruslan Bessanov, and Maxim Genashvili went on a hunger-strike on 1 June in protest to the speech of the State Prosecutor, their attorneys reported. The State Prosecutor demanded that the detainees be sentenced to ten years imprisonment during the trial held at the Court on Serious Crimes.

Representatives of the Ombudsman Administration met with the detainees on 6 June, who voiced their discontent with what they call a biased investigation. They did not complain of the living conditions in the cell and noted that neither administration nor the employees of the Isolation Cell treated them in any illegal manner.

The aforementioned persons are accused of the assassination of underage Vusal Zeynalov on 15 February 2005.
