Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / The Editor-in-Chief and an employee of Mukhalifet newspaper appealed their sentences to the Court of Appeals, Judge Mirpasha Huseynov.
Huseynov said that the date of the initial hearing has not yet been confirmed.
On 16 May, the Yasamal District Court of Baku sentenced the Editor-in-Chief of Mukhalifet newspaper, Rovshan Kebirli and an employee of the newspaper to two years and six months imprisonment.
MP Jalal Aliyev began the lawsuit in connection with the article 'AMAY - Aliyevs' Trade Brand', published in Mukhalfet on 24 February 2007.
