The Azerbaijan Beekeepers Association is expanding the geography of honey export, the chairman of the association Badraddin Hasratov said in an interview with Trend.

According to Hasratov, currently, negotiations on this issue are underway with the US, Japan, South Korea, Arab and European countries.

He noted that samples of Azerbaijani honey have already been sent to the US and South Korea.

In addition, Hasratov said that by the end of 2021, the production of honey by the Association of Beekeepers of Azerbaijan amounted to 7,000 tons, which is a record figure.

He also said that another success of the association was the increase in the number of bee colonies from 550,000 to 620,000. Also, the professional skills of beekeepers in the regions improved, for which several seminars and training were organized, as well as educational training on the Internet.

"This year, the bee colonies were taken to the liberated Kalbajar and Lachin districts, which was the greatest success of the Azerbaijan Beekeepers' Association," he said.

The chairman of the association stressed that for the first time in the past 29 years, products from Kalbajar and Lachin were presented at the honey fair.
