Banks in Azerbaijan have begun blocking payments to online bookmakers and casinos, Trend reports.
Since January 1, 2022, both physical and online transactions have been blocked.
According to the amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of Azerbaijan, sanctions are envisaged for the relevant financial transactions (against the bank that makes the transaction) for the implementation of client orders or other operations on the bank account related to participation in gambling.
As to date, these operations have been blocked by such banks as PASHA Bank, Access Bank, Unibank and some others.
