Azerbaijan invested $181.7 million in the Ukrainian economy over the first nine months of 2021, Ukraine's Ministry of Economy told Trend.
According to the ministry, equity instruments (balances by countries of the world) as of September 30, 2021, amounted to $179 million.
"The largest volume of investments from Azerbaijan to Ukraine came in the areas of wholesale and retail trade, and repair of vehicles - $142.6 million (81.7 percent of the total volume of Azerbaijani investments),” the ministry said. “Azerbaijan has invested $10.9 million (6.3 percent of the total volume of Azerbaijani investments) in the Ukrainian industry.”
Besides, $6.8 million of Azerbaijani investments were attracted to the real estate sector, $5.9 million to the area of administrative and support services, $5.3 million to the construction sector, $1.4 million to professional, scientific and technical activities.
Some $700,000 of the investments accounted for transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities, $500,000 - agriculture, forestry and fisheries, as well as $300,000 – catering, added the ministry.
