BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. The current loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) projects in Azerbaijan is estimated at 811 million euros at the beginning of April 2022 (decrease of six million euros compared to the figure at the beginning of March 2022), Trend reports with reference to the EBRD.
The bank's loan portfolio is calculated for the implementation of 33 projects, EBRD said.
The majority of the project portfolio (88 percent, or 717 million euros) is directed towards investments in sustainable infrastructure, nine percent, or 70 million euros, towards investments in industry, trade and the agricultural sector and three percent, or 24 million euros, towards investments in financial institutions.
The bank has generally invested more than 3.3 billion euros in 181 projects in Azerbaijan.
EBRD provided loans in the amount of 17 million euros for the implementation of six projects in Azerbaijan in 2021 and over the past four years this figure has reached 857 million euros for lending to 34 projects in the public and private sectors.
EBRD is Azerbaijan’s leading investor and has been cooperating since 1992.
