BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 19. A total of 638,600 foreigners and stateless persons from 166 countries visited Azerbaijan from January through June 2022, which is 2.3 times more than in the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, 25 percent of the total number of visitors came from Russia, 23.8 percent from Türkiye, 13 percent from Iran, 5.2 percent from Georgia, 4.6 percent from Saudi Arabia, 2.8 percent from Pakistan, 2 .4 percent - from the UAE and India, 2.3 percent - Ukraine, 1.8 percent - Kazakhstan, 1.3 percent - from Kuwait and the UK, 14.1 percent - from other countries.
Committee noted that 41.7 percent of foreigners and stateless persons arrived in Azerbaijan by rail and road, 56.6 percent by air, and 1.7 percent by seaway.
The number of visitors from Oman in Azerbaijan increased by 751.9 times over the year, Saudi Arabia - by 252.7 times, Kuwait - by 147.3 times, the UAE - by 41.7 times, Bahrain - by 57.4 times, Israel - 9.9 times, Pakistan - 51 times, India - 32.1 times, the USA - 5.9 times, France - 2.8 times, Kazakhstan - 5.5 times, Russia – 1.6 times, the UK - 2.1 times, Ukraine - 1.9 times, Iran - 1.9 times, Türkiye -2 times, Georgia - 21.9 percent.
