BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 21. Turkish ports handled 1.8 million tons of cargo from Georgia from January through September 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, ships under the Turkish flag delivered 809,599 tons of cargo from Georgia to local ports, and ships under the flags of other countries - 1.058 million tons.
From January through September this year, three tons of cargo were delivered to Turkish ports by Georgian-flagged ships.
In the reporting period, Turkish ports handled over 1.18 million tons of transit cargo from Georgia, the ministry added.
Turkish ports totally transshipped over 31.9 million tons of cargo in September 2022.
In the reporting month, ships under the flag of Türkiye delivered 2.2 million tons of cargo, and ships under the flags of other countries – 29.7 million tons to the ports.
At the same time, 6.63 million tons of transit cargo were delivered to Turkish ports.
Turkish ports in total handled 269.5 million tons of cargo from January through September 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through local ports in the specified period amounted to 21.3 million tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries – 275.2 million tons.
Meanwhile, Turkish ports handled 60.6 million tons of transit cargo.
