BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 28. Azerbaijan's SOCAR Polymer company increased exports of products by 26.7 percent in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan told Trend.
According to the center, its exports in the reporting period amounted to $76.8 million, which is $16.2 million more than in the same period of 2022.
SOCAR Polymer holds the third position in the TOP-10 in terms of the value of non-oil products exported by state-owned companies.
The construction of SOCAR Polymer plants has become the first large-scale project of the country's petrochemical industry over the past 40 years.
The company’s production facilities consisting of polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plants are located on the territory of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP).
The PP and HDPE plants were commissioned in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
