BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. Azerbaijan's GDP from January through May 2023 increased by 0.7 percent to 49.5 billion manat ($29.1 billion) compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, value added in the non-oil sector increased by 4 percent during the reporting period of 2023, while in the oil and gas sector decreased by 2.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
The share of industry in the specified period was 45.5 percent in the structure of GDP.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 9.1 percent of GDP accounted for trade and repair of vehicles, 6.1 percent for transport and warehousing, 4.5 percent for construction, 3.6 percent for agriculture, forestry, and fish farming, 2.2 percent for the tourism sector, 1.6 percent for information and communications.
As many as 17.9 percent of GDP accounted for other sectors of the economy.
Net income from the import tax in the specified period amounted to 9.5 percent of GDP.
GDP per capita amounted to 4,890 manat ($2,876) from January through May 2023 in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan's GDP in 2022 increased by 4.6 percent to 133.8 billion manat ($78.7 billion) compared to 2021.
