BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov met at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with Rachel Thomson, Executive Director for the group of countries that includes Azerbaijan, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
It was emphasized at the meeting that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to partnerships with international financial institutions, including the ADB, and the financial and technical support of the bank to our country is highly appreciated.
It was noted that ADB provides support to our country within the framework of projects in the fields of energy, environment, infrastructure, transit and logistics, digital development, public-private partnership, and other areas. In addition, the Minister of Economy spoke about the national priorities of the country, the work carried out within the framework of the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development for 2022-2026, reconstruction and construction work in the territories liberated from occupation, and emphasized the opportunities for cooperation in this area with ADB.
The Executive Director of the ADB for the group of countries, which includes Azerbaijan, expressed the interest of the bank in expanding ties with our country, noting that joint initiatives and projects will contribute to ensuring further sustainable development in Azerbaijan.
The parties discussed the joint projects being implemented by the parties, the main challenges in the field of economic development, and other issues.
