BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. The volume of trade turnover in Baku increased by 4 percent and amounted to 15 billion manat ($8.8 billion) from January through June 2023 compared to 2022, Trend reports.

According to the Baku City Statistics Department, sales in the Baku retail chain of food, beverages, and tobacco products increased by 2.7 percent to 9 billion manat ($5.2 billion) during the reporting period compared to the same period in 2022.

Sales of non-food products decreased by 5.6 percent to 6 billion manat ($3.5 billion).

According to the statistics department, 35.6 percent of the sold products fell on enterprises with the status of legal entities, 48.2 percent on trade objects owned by individual entrepreneurs, and 16.2 percent on the markets of Baku.

The volume of trade turnover in Baku increased by 5 percent and amounted to 30.8 billion manat ($18.1 billion) in 2022 compared to 2021.

According to the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover increased by 55.36 percent ($18.7 billion) from $33.9 billion to $52.6 billion by the end of 2022 compared to 2021.
